2020 has left so many of us ready for more of the good stuff: more meaning in our lives, more movement for our sluggish COVID bodies, and more connection with the people we care about.
If you want to kick off the New Year with fresh energy, then join the Joy Team, a group of like-minded joy-seekers who are ready to support each other in choosing joy. This four-session, group-coaching format will guide you through the step-by-step process to create your own “Plan to Choose Joy,” based on Babs Plunkett’s best-selling book, Choose Joy: Three Keys to Investing Your Time in Retirement.
We’ll explore in-depth examples of how ordinary people aged 60-100 years are living with joy and meaning by engaging their minds, moving their bodies and connecting with other. Each week, you and the other Joy Team members will try out one of the three keys to choosing joy. We’ll explore “Try This” ideas, share interactive activities and discuss playful, thought-provoking questions. Together we will celebrate the successes and explore the challenges of finding joy.
You will leave with an individualized “Plan to Choose Joy,”
a concrete action plan defining what you’re committing to each week to help you live more joyfully.

Week One: Engage Your Mind: Discover what you want to do Monday morning to find meaning. We’ll explore strategies ranging from doing good for others, uncovering a passion and “unretiring.”
Week Two: Move Your Body: Decide how you want to stay in motion, without going to the gym. Learn how others are staying healthy by going outside, getting their steps while giving or moving for the joy of it.
Week Three: Connect with Others: Explore how to deepen existing relationships or bravely build new friendships. We’ll uncover five, achievable strategies for connecting with others.
Week Four: Put It All Together: Create your “Plan to Choose Joy,” defining the action steps you’re choosing each week to live with joy.
